GAITHERSBURG, MD – SEPTEMBER 22, 2014
Fitzgerald Auto Malls hosted their fifth annual Hispanic Child Car Safety Seat event this past Saturday in conjunction with National Child Passenger Safety Week. Certified child passenger technicians worked with parents and families to show them the correct way to install a child seat.
Each year, Fitzgerald Auto Malls reaches out to local Hispanic and Latino communities with an event,Protegiendo Nuestro Futuro
(Protecting Our Future), which is focused on raising awareness and educating parents about the importance of proper child passenger safety. With 3 out of 4 child seats not being installed correctly, children are left at serious risk for injury or even death in a vehicle accident.
“Motor vehicle crashes are one of the leading causes of death for children in the United States,” said Jack Fitzgerald, founder and CEO of Fitzgerald Auto Malls, “We are grateful to have the opportunity to help educate families, reduce child seat misuse, and save the lives of children in our communities.”
Fitzgerald Auto Malls works in partnership with Univision TV, Amerigroup, and Safe Kids Montgomery County, and as a part of the initiative, 100 car seats and booster seats are given away to families.
Allstate Insurance showcased a new catastrophe response vehicle, designed to maneuver through roads and neighborhoods hit by severe weather catastrophes. This allows immediate claims assistance to customers suffering from significant home and automobile damage. Competitive insurance rates with full service operations are being offered through Allstate Insurance to serve customers. This is the newest addition of business services at Fitzgerald Auto Malls.
The Fitzgerald Child Car Seat Inspection Program was developed in partnership with Maryland state and local government agencies in 1999. It is the first private local volunteer program in the nation to have conducted over 45,300child safety seat inspections within a single program.
Fitzgerald Auto Malls organizes and conducts monthly child safety seat inspections in an effort to increase the number of lives saved through proper installation.
Events are held on the third Thursday of every month, with the exception of January and February. For more information about upcoming event dates or to make an appointment, please visit www.FitzMall.com.
