NORTH BETHESDA, MD – September 12, 2012
Fitzgerald Hyundai dealerships are working in partnership with Hyundai Motor America to support the fight against childhood cancer. September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and the entire Fitz Mall family is committed to raising awareness within the local community. Fitzgerald Auto Malls has three Hyundai dealerships, two in Maryland and one in Florida. They are encouraging community members to show support by making a $1 donation at their nearby Fitzgerald Hyundai location.
The Hyundai Hope on Wheels Program brings together over 800 Hyundai dealers across the United States to help kids battle cancer. Together, they have awarded more than $57 million for the fight against childhood cancer since the organization first began in 1998.
Every 36 minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer in the United States. Although 80 percent of cancers are being cured, it still remains the leading cause of death by disease in children. Today, less than 3% of federal funding goes to pediatric cancer. This shows how important these donated funds are in support of this life saving research that will one day help find a cure for childhood cancer.
Fitzgerald Auto Malls has always been committed to serving communities by protecting their children, whether it is with the nationally recognized Child Safety Seat Inspection Program or through the support of pediatric cancer research funding.
The Fitz Mall family believes fair and honest customer service, responsible environmental stewardship, and consumer safety and education are all integral parts of doing business. It is their business philosophy. “Doing things the ‘Fitz Way’ means treating everyone with honesty and respect, dealing in good faith, and creating ways to be better at what we do,” said Jack Fitzgerald, CEO and founder.
